About the condition

Osteoarthritis is the endpoint of many different joint problems: dysplasia, old injuries, cruciate disease, or simply years of loading. TB-500Emerging evidence

The most established compound in veterinary research, with equine work dating to the early 2000s.

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a protein found naturally throughout the body and concentrated at wound sites. The active portion binds actin, the structural protein cells use to move. Research describes this helping repair cells migrate into damaged tissue, alongside new blood vessel formation and collagen laydown.

A copper-binding tripeptide with a published canine wound-healing study.

GHK-Cu is a three-amino-acid peptide bound to copper, found naturally in blood plasma at levels that decline with age. Research describes it influencing the expression of several thousand genes involved in tissue remodelling, which is why it appears in both wound-healing and skin and coat contexts. It is one of the few compounds here with a canine study behind it.

TB-500: Contraindicated with active cancer

TB-500 is associated with promoting angiogenesis and cell migration in preclinical models — the same two processes tumours depend on to grow and spread. Any dog with a known or suspected malignancy should be screened and cleared before this compound is considered.

GHK-Cu: Copper storage disease in predisposed breeds

Bedlington Terriers and certain Labrador Retriever lines carry an inherited copper storage disorder. In these dogs the injectable route risks hepatic copper accumulation. Hepatic function must be monitored, and the topical route is strongly preferred.
